The Vinho Verde region is finally being recognised as the wonderfully diverse area that it is. With consumers looking for lighter wines that excite & quench your thirst, the company Viniverde fits the bill perfectly. It is a holding company founded in 2008 dedicated to the production, commercialization & marketing of diversified DOC “Vinhos Verdes" wines.
Adega Ponte da Barca, the principal Viniverde shareholder has more than 50 years of experience in Vinho Verde DOC. They possess insightful knowledge to the region, producing Vinhos Verdes with grapes coming from the Lima sub-region.
Grapes used in producing their wines allow young, aromatic, light & fresh characteristics with a globally unique style. The consistency & high quality of their wines have led to many awards & include single grape variety wines - Loureiro, Alvarinho & Vinhão.

Este White Vinho Verde 2022

Este Loureiro Vinho Verde 2022

Vinho Verde comes in many forms but this is one of the best. This is an excellent Vinho Verde made from the premium Loureiro grape. It is limpid & brilliant with citrinous colour, fruity & mineral aromas. The minerality & fruit on the palate is wonderfully appealing & complex for a vinho verde. Just sit back & enjoy a great tasting wine that represents fantastic value for money & is a great wine to match the British favourite......fish & chips.

Este Rosé Vinho Verde 2022
VV1-RS Cork & Screw Cap - Vinho Verde DOC - Vinhão, Borracal, & Espadeiro - 10.5%
This rosé is unique in the UK & is intriguing for customers as a lighter rosé option. It is made with red grapes, using a white winemaking process to produce rosé in the vinho verde style (slightly sparkling). The result is a lovely fresh, versatile wine that is pure Portuguese summer in a glass. Raspberries, strawberries & ripe red apples are very prominent in this wine.
Style: Young & Fresh Rosé
Serving Temperature: 8 -10ºC.
Suggestions: As an aperitif or with snacks. It matches very well with fresh seafood, white meats, sushi, Chinese & Italian food.

Este Alvarinho Reserva 2021
VV3 - W Cork - Vinho Verde DOC - Alvarinho - 13%
This Vinho Verde is made from the traditional premium grape Alvarinho from the classical sub-region (Monção), right by the Spanish border. A dry wine with tropical fruit, a strong pineapple backbone, high complexity & powerful floral acidity.
This wine is so outstanding that it even won a Gold medal at the World Wine & Spirit Competition 2014 Spain. Imagine that, a Portuguese Alvarinho, winning an award in Spain!
The slightly higher alcohol content helps balance its zesty acidity & green apple flavours. It has the power to balance highly flavoured foods & make fresh seafood explode on your taste buds

Suggestions: An aperitif as a delightful refreshing wine or with oily fish, roast pork & Japanese yakitori.

Este Vinhão Red 2021
VV2-R Cork - Vinho Verde DOC - 100% Vinhão - 13%
This 100% Vinhão is a rustic wine with an intense colour & delicious flavours of forest fruits. This is a traditional style wine that has been modernized & is now famous for its culinary versatility, however still a rarity in the UK!
The grape Vinhao makes the darkest wine in Portugal (also called Sousão in the south) & it is considered a landmark wine in the Vinho Verde region. Drink it chilled as a light summer red or slightly below room temperature with BBQ meats!
With silky smooth tannins likened to Burgundian pinot, this easy going, chill-able red starts with opulent violets on the nose, progressing into blackberries & unripe plum! A red with a slightly higher acidity that keeps the wine fresh. Working well to cut through fatty foods.
Suggestions: A popular wine in northern Portugal where it matches very well with fatty meats especially roasted, BBQ or grilled.

Winemaking: Made from indigenous white grapes of the Vinho Verde Region, carefully vinified to extract & contain the natural aromas & freshness of the grapes. All inside a 250ml can, reducing its carbon impact & increasing its portability!
Wine description: The colour, an attractive lemon hue, with a citric palate to match. The wine preserves the typical aromas of the young grapes, with elements of citrus & crispy green apple. A very refreshing wine with a slightly sweet finish.
Food pairing: They are ideal for picnics, the beach, parties, with or without food. Great with appetizers, light meals & summer fruit salad!

Pretty In Pink Rosé
VVCAN - RS - Vinho Verde DOC - 30% Vinhão, 50% Borraçal, 20% Espadeiro - 9.5%
Winemaking: Made from indigenous red grapes of the Vinho Verde Region, carefully vinified to extract the natural aromas of the grapes.
Wine description: Presenting a light pink colour, blush in colour. Bursting from the can is an expressive aroma of red fruits & in the mouth, it is moreish & extremely refreshing.
Food pairing: With or without food. Fits all types of appetizers due to its uncompromising character, great with lighter meals &, why not, strawberry ice cream!
