Some of the commitments to achieve sustainability status are:
To understand the ecosystem of each region.
Water usage reductions & recycling where possible.
Reduction of weight of glass per packaging.
Improving the environmental impact of local communities.
Using clean energy (solar, hydro, wind, etc)
Compost all organic waste from the winemaking process.
Encourage wildlife with biodiversity wherever possible.
Use animals (sheep usually) to control weeds throughout the vineyard, reducing the use of pesticides.
Focus on & replant indigenous varieties best suited to survive the climate changes.
Train surrounding communities so they understand the importance of protection & development of local products and materials.

Often our wines are already vegan & organic (or in conversion) when from Portugal, this is due to traditional growing practices. However, outside of Portugal you will find all our wines are certified organic & vegan!
